Big Five-Oh
It was my sister Susan's 50th birthday yesterday. I can't believe she's 50!
I gave her a carved wooden frog. It came with a dowel that you could remove from it's mouth and run down it's ridged spine to create a croaking sound.
I went over to her place after work on a last minute notice. My mom was there too. I found out that my family was annoyed that I didn't let them know I left on vacation to Calgary. Ooops.
After chatting for a few hours, we went out for dinner at a Chinese restaurant. The food turned out to be mediocre and service was extremely slow. We had to cancel the last dish because it took so long. And the red bean soup dessert smelled and tasted like it was burnt.
It was getting dark when we returned to her place. I had to leave since I still had my dark tinted visor on my helmet. I offered to give my mom a ride on the back of my bike back to her place but she declined. I didn't have a spare helmet for her anyway. ;)
Once I got back home, I remembered seeing my nephew carrying a box into the fridge when he returned from work and realized I missed out on some birthday cake.
