Nov. 3rd, 2006 02:40 pmI have had problems with my shoe/boot laces becoming untied. And I just discovered why. All these years, I have been using a "granny/slip" knot! I finally learned how to properly tie my shoes. I never realised that you have to tie the lace one way first and then the opposite direction to finish it off. It feels weird for me at first but it should not take too long for me to get used to it.
During my last hockey game, one of my laces came undone where it attaches my goalie pad to the toe of my skate. I kept slipping on it with my blade and couldn't get a good footing on the ice. The ends of that lace were cut to pieces. This was the second time it had happened so I wanted to find out why even my double knots were slipping loose. And this was the result of my research. Life is good. ;)
