While riding home, I went over a crescent and on the way down, I found a car in my lane coming from the opposite direction. The driver was trying to avoiding the large metal plate and fresh asphalt in his own lane. I slowed down and got ready to brake in order to avoid a head-on collision. In a panic, the other driver swerved back into his own lane and his spinning tires shot bits of asphalt at me as I passed by. Ouch... I felt that! I turned my head away as I felt and heard the spray of little buggers hit me and bounce off my helmet. Note to self: Stay away from cars going over fresh pavement...

I almost thought I would get caught in the barricades downtown for the fireworks. I think I just made it. It would have forced me to sit in the snarled traffic in the hot sun if I didn't.

The fireworks were pretty nifty. Too bad Nesha couldn't see it with me. I loved the gold fountains. The hearts were a nice touch. And how the heck did they create that circle with a star in it?

It's wonderful having to walk only a block to see the fireworks. It's even better being able to get back home with such ease and not get caught in the crowd trying to head back out. I noticed a lot more people out this year than all the previous ones. A whopping 350,000 of them.

Nesha doesn't think that I want to move out of my current apartment into a different place with her. She knows how much I love my place and location. I'm open to moving into a new larger place with her sometime in the future but my place also stays so nice and cool at this time of the year. I wonder if we can both fit into this one bedroom apartment?
