An editor at Re:Place Magazine had expressed his admiration of my photography a while ago and had been trying to get me to contribute some photos and an accompanying write-up for him to do a feature on me. When he recently inquired again if I was still interested, I said "yes". Since I am not working, I have some time to do all that. I really have to say that I appreciate his patience in waiting for me to finally give him something to use.
That site makes my images look great!

Whew. It took weeks and a lot of sleepless nights but all the photos from the burlesque festival are finally done. Instead of me posting them here, I'll just provide the link to that photo set here. (Please note that a few are slightly NSFW.)

Vaisakhi 2009: The Nihang
Apr. 14th, 2009 08:57 pmNihang (pronounced Nee-hung) ( ਨਿੰਹਗ )(also: called Akalis) is an armed Sikh order. Early Sikh military history is dominated by the Akali Sikh military order particularly for many famous military victories won while often heavily out-numbered. The Nihangs have historically been held in great affection and respect by Sikhs due the pivotal role they have played in Sikh history and Sikh military history in particular.
The Nihangs were originally formed to provide Sikhs protection from Muslim persecution in the 1750s to the late 1780s. Throughout the centuries, they have made contributions in both their religion and society.
