Sep. 16th, 2003 10:48 amToday is Nesha's 28th birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY SWEETIE!! :)
I was worried for a moment. She called me and wanted me to search my car and apartment yesterday. She couldn't find the card and CD I made her for our first anniversary together, and she couldn't find the Buffy DVD I lent her. The other things could be easily replaced but the Buffy DVD was part of an expensive set. She offered to buy another set for me but I reassured her that things can't simply disappear just like that. I couldn't find it at my place but I was very sure it had to be at her place. I couldn't help feeling a little bummed about my Buffy DVD. It wasn't the worst thing that could happen and I made sure that she didn't feel badly about it.... especially since her birthday was today. Besides, I was not going to stress our relationship over something so material. I just said don't worry about it and it will turn up eventually.
And sure enough, Nesha found it in a pocket of her backpack that she forgot about. Whew.
We are going to visit her twin sister this evening and celebrate their birthdays. The musical spinning cat-thingy and card is all ready for Nesha. I am getting off work early for her. And I even left the motorcycle at home to take my car. How's that for showing my affection? ;)
I just got back from a 4 1/2 hour meeting this morning for members of our safety and fire committee. We all got to shoot off fire extinguishers again. We had to aim at a picture of fire. When it was all done, we were given new amber jackets to replace the cheesy caps and reflective vests, and we were given purple fleece blankets as a gift. The blankets came in a bag that looked like a ginormous Crown Royal.
The blanket is going to be handy after those big lunches. And the bag will help block off any light or noise when worn.
