Nov. 30th, 2005 07:51 pmI stayed home yesterday... just because i could! It was the morning after our first snowfall and I didn't want to be in the chaos of bad drivers and having to subject my car to the salt on the road.
I got to sleep in all bundled up in my warm comforter and bed. When I got up, i decided to change the oil in my car. Unfortunately, something went wrong and the old oil overflowed from the oil container. I had to clean up as much as I could and then put oil back into the car so i could race out to Canadian Tire to get some supplies to deal with the mess. The stupid oil filter clamp I borrowed from my dad was useless and I had to leave the old filter on.
I got back and cleaned up just in time before everyone started returning back home from work... and especially before the building supervisor saw the mess.
In all, I basically wasted a day off that could have been spent relaxing. The cost of the oil change plus oil cleanup supplies pretty much nullified any savings I could have gotten by not taking it to a quickie oil change place.
