Jul. 19th, 2006 09:09 amI rode my bike in this morning since it's the annual Ride Your Bike To Work Day. I haven't done that in the last two weeks because of the weather and I needed my car to run errands. I was hesitant to put on my gear as I remembered how much I was sweating in it during that course on Saturday. But it's amazing how that seems to somehow disappear... I think. :P
I spent the day at work yesterday showing the manager of our Montreal office what I do. She heads the department that processes the work that is assigned to me. I was pleasantly suprised at how understanding and receptive to developing a better system she was. Ever since they had her department handle our work, everything has been a nightmare. My partner and I had to revert to using their archaic system and we had to put in a lot of unnecessary work to get our work done. Because their office is unionized, no one there seems to want to do anything outside of what their usual procedure is. They feel that it is "not their job". I just hope this manger's visit will result in some positive changes. She did seem impressed though when she found out how much work was being processed by just the two of us.
