There are 6 people in my graphics department. 2 of them are sick today and another 2 are in a training session. That leaves the person working from home and myself doing all the work. And this is during a hectic overtime-laden period. even with a full staff, i would have had to work overtime. I barely have time to stop and breathe.
My lieft index finger and upper inner thigh is sore and bruised from playing ice hockey. This is on top of the general all-over muscle/joint soreness I have from playing. An ex-junior player came out that night and I caught his slapshot wrong during the warm-up.
Later in the game, some idiot came down on a breakaway and took a slapshot 8 feet away from me. The puck hit me on the inner part of my upper thigh. It was also high enough to somehow hit me in a rather "delicate" area enough to really hurt me. I refused to stop or collapse from the pain, so I was lucky the play went the other way for awhile. The pain eventually subsided just enough for me to regain full fucus but it was tender until the next day. I need more padding. And I hate it when guys try to put a puck past me by taking slapshots close up.
It felt like I hardly saw Nesha at all this weekend. We brought her kitty to the vet and then I took her to a used bookstore where I spent an eternity waiting for her to find some books. Afterwards, we had sushi for dinner and took a nap together before I drove her home on the way to my hockey game. She wanted to start reading her books so I didn't even get to see her yesterday. That's okay. I was feeling quite tired from all the overtime work I've been putting in and the hockey game. We have a lot to make up for the next time we get together.
