I started off the weekend meeting up briefly with uber-duber
profoundtruths on the Drive since I was picking some advance tickets for the Corrupt Cabaret. Her twins are soo cute! They both reached up to me for a goodbye hug and gave me a tiny kiss on the cheek. How adorable is that? :)
After waking up to do some housework on Saturday, I treated myself to a ride out to Richmond. The Westminster Highway was fast and at times, challenging. When the heavy wind wasn't pushing me all over the road, I usually found myself travelling well over the speed limit to keep with the flow of traffic. Luckily, my instincts told me to slow down when moments later, the shadow of a traffic control plane passed over me. Closer to New Westminster, I found my self having to contend with narrow lanes with too-close barricades and numerous curves, especially one long, tight one which would have surely induced a panic attack when I was a newbie rider.
Later in the evening, I picked up Nesha, who got out of work very late. I took her to get something to eat before heading out to the cabaret show. My sweetie had a nervous breakdown from all the stress at work. Her employees were not very good without constant supervision from her. The last draw came when she found out they often fudged the numbers at the end of the day just to get the numbers to balance. All thios before an audit in 3 days. It took some time before Nesha was back to herself.
At the Cabaret, I was dismayed at the lack of seating, as we arrived a little late although the show didn't start for another hour after what was scheduled. I noticed a woman waving at me as I looked for a place to sit. I didn't recognize her so I looked behind me only to see no one there. She then came up to me and I finally recognized my friend Claire! She had her hair cut short and was dressed much different from her clubbing days. Marriage has changed her! She looked great and wholesome! ;)
Unfortunately, there were no seats at her table so Nesha and I sat on the steps. Really hard, butt-numbing steps. I eventually had to get up and stand but luckily, Nesha found us a table during the intermission.
What can I say about the show? It was fantastic! There was a great stand-up comic who specialized in a kind of improv, a talented Elvis impersonator who changed some of the song lyrics to "spice" things up... he even went outside during a song and gave a street person a hug! And of course, there were numerous burlesque peformances.
When the show ended, I noticed that Nesha was back to herself. And the night ended with a goodnight kiss.
